Sally Face Wiki

The Phelps Temple is a centuries-old underground complex located beneath the Phelps Ministry. It was constructed by The Devourers of God prior to the construction of Addison Temple. Construction was finished by 1681, and the Phelps Ministry was constructed atop it in 1703 in order to conceal it from the public.

History[]

The Phelps Temple was completed in 1681, and the entrance was concealed by the Phelps Ministry in 1703. It was used as the main headquarters for most of the cult's history, and remained active after the abandonment of Addison Temple. Jim Johnson had a laboratory in one of the rooms of the temple.

Memories and Dreams[]

After Sal Fisher's execution, Ashley Campbell and Neil continued to work against the Devourers of God. They began to receive letters from a mysterious insider, aiding them in their efforts to destroy the cult. In the days leading up to the ritual, Neil had acquired a large amount of C-4 that they planned to use to destroy the temple as a contingency plan. Ash snuck into the temple, and placed the explosives behind sacred jars where they would not be found and could not be removed if they were. When Neil was later abducted and Maple taken from her cell, Ash went quickly to Phelps Temple and found the two in the dungeon. Travis Phelps then entered the room, revealing himself as the insider, and warned Ash of the danger, telling her that she needed to leave. However, she had to be forced out, and could not bring herself to detonate the C-4.

Ashley later returned to interrupt the ritual, after being possessed by Sal. There, in the Central Chamber, they found Neil and Maple, along with two other unknown people, slaughtered and hanging by their ankles, and Todd restrained to the dais, all above a chasm that presumably led to the Void, but at the very least served as an access point for demons and the Plague of Shadows. Ash, alongside Sal and the ghost of Larry Johnson, were able to fight off the cultists, while the cult's leader, Kenneth Phelps, was struck down by Travis, causing both to plummet into the chasm. After being warned by a semi-possessed Todd to run, Ash attempted to detonate the C-4 (player choice), but to no avail, forcing the group to directly battle the Endless One, who was returning from the Void after Sal removed it from its host. After the Endless One had been defeated, the Temple was destroyed, and the game ends with Ash, Todd, and an ominpresent Sal sitting amongst the wreckage of the Phelps Ministry. However, during the unlockable epilogue, it's revealed that because the Void had been opened during the battle, 33% of the world's population had been destroyed by the Plague of Shadows, with the remaining members of the main group continuing to fight against it.
