The Peering Eyes are one of Beelzebub’s artworks encountered by Sal Fisher during a dream sequence in "The Trial".

Appearance

As their name suggests, the Peering Eyes are a pair of giant, looming human eyes embedded into the wall. They track Sal around the room.

Personality

The Peering Eyes are mournful of the transgressions they had committed.

When Sal attempts to converse with it further, all it does is apologize.

Biography

Sal found the Peering Eyes behind Beelzebub’s first door. When approached, they spoke an unsettling message:

There was a knock at the door and I could see again. I was… me again. Suddenly, it forced my hand and this freedom was revealed to be an illusion. I was forced to watch everything. A prisoner in my own mind. I have done terrible things. Unforgivable things.
Peering Eyes

When Sal reported back to Beelzebub, he noted that the Peering Eyes were filled with regret and sorrow.
