Mrs. Gibson was a woman that lived in Room 101 of Addison Apartments.
Appearance
Mrs. Gibson had rather greenish, wrinkled skin, covered in age spots, and curly purple hair. She wore a lavender bra, lavender boxers, and blue-grey fuzzy slippers.
Personality
Mrs. Gibson was a very reserved and independent person, and proudly so[1], though to the point of being peevish and crotchety, especially to children[2]. By the time of the Bologna Incident, she seems to have at least been vaguely feigning politeness[1].
Biography
Mrs. Gibson was married, once; her husband then passed, leaving her in deep grief and causing a relative of hers to gift her a very unwanted little brown rabbit. She originally viewed it very much as a burden, refusing to give it a name, and cared for the rabbit entirely out of obligation. Eventually, though, she warmed up to it. After one year, Gibson ceremonially dubbed her (the rabbit) Nutmeg, a nickname Gibson's husband had used to call her[3].
Sometime in the months proceeding August 1984[4], Larry accidentally killed Nutmeg while playing with firecrackers in the yard of the Apartments[5], something she would never forgive him for[6]-- or anyone else of his age group[2], for that matter.
Gibson, like the other residents of the apartment building, was infected during the Red Eyes infestation and slaughtered by Sal Fisher to prevent the darkness from spreading any further.
Trivia
- In some versions, her surname is spelled "Mrs. Gibbson" in Strange Neighbors while "Mrs. Gibson" was used in separate occasions.

The rabbit was seen as a burden to Mrs. Gibson, just another thing to take care of. She was too old for this. She didn’t even bother to name it at first. Then, slowly, she found herself growing attached to the little critter. When the rabbit was one year old, Gibson made a special meal for her and finally gave her a name. She decided to call her Nutmeg. A nickname that Gibson’s husband used to call her." Maestro Fan Support. 25 March 2023.
