Sally Face Wiki

Mr. Dood El is a character playable during a dream sequence in "The Bologna Incident".

Appearance

Being a basic stick figure, Mr. Dood El possesses no discernable traits aside from his uniquely round head, which is frequently mocked by his fellow drawings.

Personality

His personality is similar to Sal's, being generally calm and well-mannered. He is impervious to the comments made toward his head and the rude treatment he receives from others while on his journey. He possesses immense curiosity, willing to give up everything in order to learn the truth.

Biography

After finishing his math test, Sal began doodling in his notes. He eventually nodded off and began dreaming that one of his drawings, a stick figure named Mr. Dood El, came to life.

Pondering his existence, Mr. Dood El embarked on a journey to enlightenment. He first encountered a person with a pyramid-shaped head who was unable to speak due to an affliction that obscured his face. When asked why, his similarly pyramid-headed companion told Mr. Dood El that the truth had destroyed his soul, further explaining that to reach the truth one must visit the Wise Prophet beyond the Fields of Death.

After climbing down a ladder, he then met a pair of drawings with square heads lacking limbs. They explained that they were drawn without limbs because their people had been mauled by the "Great Beast". When Mr. Dood El inquired about the beast, he was told to seek the Oracle beyond the Death Fields. He soon encountered an odd cyclopean creature who he initially mistook for the Great Beast. The creature denied this, stating that the Great Beast hadn’t been seen for over 100 years. When asked where he could find the Prophet, the creature said to "just take a ladder down."

Once at the bottom, he came across an old man, who warned him that he shouldn’t have come. Venturing beyond the Field of Death, he finally reached the Oracle. She related to him a story of how eons ago they opened the "Great Hole", containing all of the universe’s knowledge inside. The Great Beast had crawled through and terrorized "the sticks" for decades until it was "laid to rest" by an explosion in the sky. Mr. Dood El asked the Oracle where he could find the Great Hole. She answered him with another question: "What is the truth worth to you?", to which he responded "Everything." Mr. Dood El was then faced with a massive abyss, depicted as a tear in notebook paper. The dream ended as he stared into the abyss and his soul was seemingly destroyed.
