Sally Face Wiki

The Hex Key is an occult item that was found in Mrs. Packerton’s desk. It is a metallic object that functions as a key to the main gate in the Cult’s Temple.

History[]

The Hex Key’s origins and history are unknown, though it was undoubtedly used by the Cult in the past. At some point, Mrs. Packerton somehow obtained the object and kept it in her desk at Nockfell High School.

While investigating the source of the school’s bologna, Sal Fisher broke into Mrs. Packerton’s desk hoping to find some clues. There, he found the Hex Key hidden in a secret compartment and took it, due to its resemblance to Jim Johnson's Puzzle Box.

When Ashley fell down a trash chute, Sal, Larry, and Todd discovered that the chute led to a mysterious temple under Addison Apartments. After traversing the temple and solving various puzzles, Sal and Larry managed to activate a hidden pedestal. Realizing the Hex Key could fit inside, Sal placed the item in the pedestal, opening the gate and allowing them to save Ashley.

Trivia[]

  • The Hex Key’s name refers both to its hexagonal shape and its connection to the occult.
  • Its resemblance to Jim’s Puzzle Box could indicate that both objects’ origins have something to do with the Cult.
  • In "The Trial", if one looks closely, it can be seen that the Cult Leader is using an item similar to the Hex Key during the ritual to summon the Pillar. Whether or not it was actually the Hex Key being used, or simply a similar item is currently unknown.
